The Supreme Court, on June 11, 2021, rejected a petition that requested India’s apex court to give directions to the centre to offer, keeping in view the monetary stress caused by the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.

To my guess, the banking regulator does not believe that such a move is necessary, so far, even though the localized lock downs by several states in India to curb the mounting number of COVID-19 infections, have started to impact lives and livelihoods.
